FareWell! 🥹

I am here today to bid you farewell. We spent two years together. You have witnessed my homework and my struggle with technology in my blog account. I was sitting at the very beginning of this road, thinking for a long time how to open a blog account. I had no knowledge or interest in technology and innovations. Now I look back at the technological skills I've acquired at this point and I feel pretty grateful.

At the beginning of this path, besides not having knowledge, I also thought that it was not very necessary. However, while learning something and acquiring some technological skills, I was able to foresee how useful these would be to me in the future. I can say that I learned things that I will apply frequently in my teaching life.

I cannot deny that I am grateful for what this course has taught me and that what I have learned is really useful and necessary as a prospective teacher in the 21st century. But at times I felt really bored. Because it wasn't an area that I was interested in or inclined to. For this reason, sometimes homework came as a burden to me. But I acted with the thought that I would really benefit from what I learned, and I hope I will too.

Take care of yourself and don't forget to miss me!

WebQuest!

 Hi everyone!

For my final assignment, I created a WebQuest individually.

WebQuest is a useful tool for designing research-based projects using technology. It simplifies the process of creating projects on any topic imaginable. With WebQuest, students can easily access the project by clicking on a link. This approach is beneficial as it guides students towards relevant resources.

A WebQuest consists of four main pages: introduction, task, process, and evaluation. The introduction page acquaints students with the assignment, while the task page provides more details about the objectives. The process page includes a selection of excellent resources for students to utilize. Lastly, the evaluation page presents a rubric that outlines how the teacher will assess the students' assignments.

For my WebQuest, I chose the books Unit from EBA. You can access the WebQuest by clicking on this link.

Visit Edinburgh By Sitting on Your Coach 😁!

Hi everyone! Me and Belinay worked on an AR/VR material. We created an AR/VR integrated Edinburgh trip together. We discovered the importance of AR/VR materials. I feel like we have just visited Edinburgh from our phones. When I think of this AR/VR materials being integrated to education, I am getting quite excited. 😆

AR/VR technologies provide immersive and interactive experiences that capture learners' attention and increase engagement. Abstract or complex concepts can be challenging to comprehend through traditional methods. AR/VR integration allows for the visualization of these concepts in three-dimensional environments, making them more tangible and easier to understand. AR/VR materials offer opportunities for learners to engage in virtual experiments, simulations, and practical activities.

You can check the AR/VR integrated Edinburgh trip prepared by me and Belinay by clicking right here!

Take care and stay happy! See you soon. :)

FLIPPED TEACHING VIDEO

Hi everyone!

In our project, Belinay and I created a flipped teaching video to explain and exemplify the concept of flipped classrooms.

Flipped teaching materials refer to the instructional resources and content used in a flipped classroom approach. In a flipped classroom, students learn new concepts and acquire knowledge outside of the traditional classroom setting, typically through pre-recorded lectures, videos, readings, or other instructional materials. These materials are made available to students in advance, allowing them to engage with the content at their own pace and convenience.

We made a flipped teaching video  wit Belinay. Video is quite appropriate for young learners who are our target students. There are some reasons to use flipped teaching videos in young learners' classes;

  • Flipped teaching videos can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection, making learning more accessible to students who may have constraints in attending in-person classes.
  • Videos can captivate students' attention through the use of visuals, animations, and multimedia elements.
  • By having students watch the instructional videos outside of class, valuable classroom time can be dedicated to interactive activities, discussions, and collaborative projects.
  • Flipped teaching videos enable students to learn independently, taking the time they need to fully understand the material.

For our video, we chose words related to the daily routine from the grade 5 MEB English coursebook. We used visuals and Canva to create the video, which involved drafting the content, aligning timing with the video, and recording our voices. Belinay voclaized the text and I vocalized the quiz part.  Although it was a challenging task, we are satisfied with the product we accomplished and with the skills we gained in using Canva.

Here is our video, don't forget to check it and give some feedback! See you soon :)
